Overview

The RevSure Website Tracking Pixel is a first-party JavaScript snippet installed on your website to capture visitor interactions. It enables visitor analytics, website engagement tracking, campaign attribution, and visitor-to-CRM identity resolution within RevSure.

How Visitor Activity is Captured

Once installed, the RevSure tracking pixel automatically captures visitor interactions across your website, including:

  • Page views

  • Page navigation

  • Form interactions

  • Website engagement events

  • URL parameters and campaign information

This activity is streamed into the RevSure platform, where it powers:

  • Visitor Analytics

  • Website Analytics

  • Customer Journey timelines

  • Marketing Attribution

  • Visitor Identification

Marketing Automation Platform Activities

For contacts that already exist in your Marketing Automation Platform (Marketo, HubSpot, or Pardot), RevSure also imports web activity directly through the platform APIs.

This ensures a complete browsing history is available regardless of whether the activity originated from the RevSure pixel or the marketing automation platform.

How Anonymous Visitors Become Known Leads

Visitors are initially tracked anonymously.

When a visitor submits a website form, the tracking pixel captures the identifiers provided, such as:

  • Email address

  • Name

  • Other submitted form fields

RevSure matches these identifiers against existing records in your CRM.

If a matching Lead or Contact is found:

  • The anonymous visitor is resolved to the CRM record.

  • Previously anonymous browsing history is stitched to that Lead or Contact.

  • Future website activity is automatically associated with the same CRM record.

This provides a continuous customer journey from anonymous browsing through identified engagement.

How Traffic Source and Campaign Attribution Work

The tracking pixel captures attribution data from each website visit, including:

  • UTM parameters

  • Referrer information

  • Landing page URL

  • Campaign identifiers (when available)

RevSure uses this information to:

  • Identify the traffic source

  • Determine the marketing channel

  • Associate visits with the appropriate campaign

  • Support multi-touch attribution and customer journey reporting

When campaign identifiers match supported advertising or marketing platforms, the visit is automatically linked to the corresponding campaign.

Data Flow

  1. Visitor lands on the website.

  2. The RevSure tracking pixel captures website interactions and attribution parameters.

  3. Activity is sent to the RevSure platform.

  4. If the visitor submits a form, identifiers such as email and name are captured.

  5. RevSure matches the visitor with an existing CRM Lead or Contact.

  6. Anonymous browsing history is stitched to the identified record.

  7. Website activity becomes available across Visitor Analytics, Customer Journeys, Attribution, and related RevSure modules.
