List Types
A user can create two types of lists:
Static Lists
A manually curated collection of records.
Once created, the records do not change unless you add or remove records explicitly.
Ideal for one-off exports, ad hoc audiences, or merging existing lists.
Dynamic Lists
A rule-based set of records that updates automatically as data changes.
Define filters on fields (e.g., lead status, opportunity stage, account size) and the system recalculates records in real time.
Perfect for ongoing segmentation, reporting, and synchronization with external workflows.
This list is tied to the views and the export location.
Lists are also grouped as per the ID type they contain:
Lead List: It contains a list of Lead IDs present in the source system.
Account List: It contains a list of Account IDs present in the source system.
Opportunity List: It contains a list of Opportunity IDs present in the source system.

Use Cases and Writeback
Lists integrate deeply with campaigns and downstream processes:
Campaign Audiences
Export a static list of high‑value leads to your email marketing platform. When the campaign concludes, import click/engagement data back into the list for post‑campaign analysis.Ad Platforms
Upload a list of cold accounts for LinkedIn or Facebook advertising. Use writeback to tag accounts as Reached when they click your ads, feeding back into CRM workflows.Account-Based Marketing (ABM)
Maintain a dynamic list of target accounts based on industry, revenue, and engagement score. Sync this list nightly to personalization engines and write activity metrics back for sales follow‑up.Event and Webinar Follow‑Up
Create a static list of registrants, export to an email tool, then write back attendance status and engagement score to trigger nurture cadences.Reporting and Dashboards
Leverage dynamic lists in dashboards to visualize pipeline segments, retention cohorts, and upsell opportunities, updating automatically.
Best Practices
Naming Conventions: Prefix lists by type and purpose, e.g.,
Static_2025Q2_WebinarRegsorDyn_Account_SMB_Active.Cleanup Routine: Archive or delete lists older than 6 months to reduce clutter..
Audit Trails: Use the Created By and Modified By columns to track ownership and changes.
