In this document, we shall show how to access BigQuery through Looker and Tableau
Method 1: Accessing BigQuery through Tableau
Open the Tableau desktop and use the Connect navigation panel on the left to choose “To a server”.
In the next step, choose “Sign in using Service Account” for the authentication type.
In the same dialog box, browse and select the JSON credentials file (attached: *trg.json*) for the service account.
Once you click on ‘Sign In’, you will see the option to choose the Project and Dataset. Please use the details provided to you as per the screenshot below.
Now that you have connected to the BigQuery data source, all the tables available for reporting will appear in the ‘Connections’ section. You can start using them in your reports.
Method 2: Accessing BigQuery Using Looker Studio

The user will receive an onboarding email at their company email address (TRG Screen email ID)

Use this link to log in to Looker Studio with your G Suite account.Create a new report
Complete the account setup
Enter the details as per the screenshot.Add a data source
Select ‘BigQuery’ as the data source.Authorize your account
To authorize, the same G Suite login will work.Select the project
Select the project, then the dataset, and then the table. Click on the ‘Add data to report’ button as shown in the screenshot to get the report.Share the report
Once the report is created, you can also share it with your teammates to review/edit.
